We need to follow the voice of our Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. Daily we have to make a conscious decision to live spiritually. The enemy is always trying to pull us a different direction. Life will be directed by me or something else. Luke 9:23, And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Your decisions today determine your direction tomorrow. Together let's make wise decisions to follow after Him who created us!
When Jesus came riding in on a donkey the crowd shouted "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!" (Matthew 21:9) The crowds that day followed Jesus and worshipped Him. This fulfilled the prophecy found in Zechariah 9:9. Not too long after this the people turned against Jesus and started following the crowd and not Jesus! Jesus was crucified for you and me because He loves us. Always, always, choose to follow Jesus, the King of Kings!
Matthew 28:6, He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Because of the work on the cross that Jesus did and the power of the resurrection, sin, shame, fear and the past can no longer hold you! The precious blood of Jesus and the power of the resurrection has set us free! Romans 8:11 tells us that same power dwells in us as believers! Glory to God! Thank you, Jesus!
Acts 13:2, As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Ghost said..... Have we forgotten to minister to the Lord first? Majority of the time we bring our needs and prayer request to Him first. Let's reverse this and come to Him in worship and thanksgiving then bring our prayer request and needs to Him. John 1:12, But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right (power) to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. We become a son or daughter of God when we believe in His name. Believing has to become a way of life. We must believe, speak and put into action the Word of God in our lives. God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit live on the inside of us! Let's walk and act like we are children of the most high God!
God's word is alive according to Hebrews 4:12. When we believe the Word of God, speak the Word of God and stand on the Word of God things change. Psalm 91:1 tells us to abide under the shadow of the Almighty. God's shadow is a place of protection. It is a place of refuge. When you are under God's shadow, you are close or near to Him. God's shadow can also be a place to rest and gain strength. When you draw near to God, He will also draw near to you. Isaiah 40:8, The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” God's word is not capable of changing. It is the everlasting Word of God. Truth never changes! Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). John 8:31 tells us to continue in the Word of God and we will be His disciples. Keep moving forward with Jesus every day of your life!
John 17:17, Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. John 17 is a prayer Jesus prayed over His disciples but it also speaks to us today!. His word is truth and we take that truth to the world. Jesus left heaven to come to earth to die for our sins. What a sacrifice! He didn't have to do it, He willingly died for us! When life starts spinning faster that you can stand it is time to stop and commune with the Lord. Jesus gained strength through communion with His heavenly Father. Building our relationship with the Lord and talking with Him is one of the most important things we can do. Receiving the elements of communion is another way to reflect, honor and fellowship with Jesus. It puts us back in alignment with God!
Life is short! James 4:14 tells us it is a vapor. Here for a little while then gone. Urgency means immediate action or an awareness of time. The enemy tells us we can change later but there is no guarantee for later. Every day of delay is a step in the wrong direction. Jeremiah 13:23 ask the question can a leopard change its spots. Jeremiah was a prophet of God to Israel. He was speaking to them about their pride, rebellion and lack of trust in God. He was trying to get Israel to turn back to God but they were being stubborn. A leopard cannot change its spots but we can change and make adjustments in our life by the grace of God. Don't trust in your own falsehood. Trust in His Truth!
